Standing up for our unhoused neighbors using a very simple principle, “Treat others how you want to be treated.” This golden rule reflects the very simple question, “What would I need in that situation” and create policy accordingly
Supporting our officers who are extremely understaffed and underfunded. Crime is up in Alameda County and its putting us all at risk.
Funding community programs that support comprehensive health and rehabilitation for our unhoused and funding safety officers are not mutually exclusive. Together, Alameda County quality of life improves for all residents.
Partnerships with the State of California and local cities in Alameda County to support funding for housing and creative housing strategies that meet HUD Federal Compliance Guidelines.
Recognize that temporary housing solutions are not solutions that work for the unhoused, the county, or the community. It’s a band-aid to a broken leg, and right now our community needs medical surgery to walk upright again.
Because housing is a God-given human right, we must respect the honor and sovereignty of each other to ensure everyone has a safe domain to rest, refresh, and thrive each day.
Healthcare for too long has been viewed from a physical position and not holistic. I support healthcare that brings mental healing from various forms of trauma, help remove addiction from people’s lives, and works hand in hand with housing because the lack of housing can expedite mental health issues.
Healthcare officers and mobile health staff for Alameda County to visit people where they are and treat their illnesses when possible. For hundreds of years, people didn’t visit doctors, doctors visited people, and I want to bring the care part of our culture back supporting medical physicians and staff to make house visits and community visits again.
Funding Community Organizations that can show in present time the positive impact they are making. No longer will Alameda County fund organizations simply because they have always been funded. Community review is necessary to ensure impact meets the cost and takes care of the need.
Supporting the cleanliness of Alameda County through Community Clean-Up partnerships
Creating an internship/job portal on my new District 4 website for young people 16-24 to easily search for paid internships, apprenticeships, training, jobs, and career-tracked programs. If we are not preparing our youth today for the next 10, 20, and 50 years, then we are not preparing them for anything.
